In both 2D and 3D animation, a rapid sequence of images is displayed in order to create an illusion of movement. It is an optical illusion of motion due to the phenomenon of persistence of vision, and at epic we use a number of different tools to bring a still image or 3D model to life. Our most popular animation tool is Flash, but it is our production process that makes the magic happen.

In our first example below, you can see the 4 key steps (Script - Storyboard - Animatic - Animation) we use in our shop. Look at each example to see the raw materails that go into a production.  In the second example, we bring these 4 elements together so you can see the animation process in action.  Following this historic method insures we will deliver a project that is on-time, in budget and of the highest quality.

If you would like to see each of the elements in our animation production process in action, click here to see how they come together in a project we did for The McKay Foundation. The mission of this organization is to educate children about adults who they may know and trust, and the fine line between trust and a dangerous situation. The challenge - "How do we explain to the boys and girls that someone they love could harm them?"
